Introduction
The Town Library of Pomigliano d’Arco is located on the second floor of the multifunctional structure of Palazzo dell’Orologio. In this centre university courses, professional courses, seminars, meetings and debates are held. Besides, a digital Library is going to get ready here. In this building the Municipal government means to bring together the safeguard of local traditions and the promotion of multimedial activities, to make the Library also a centre of cultural elaboration and of historical research.
The official establishment of the Library took place in 1990 with the deliberation number 568 of 30th April by the Municipal council.
From 1990 to today many things have changed. Actually, in the 90s the Library was in possession only of few thousands of books, when in 1992 it was enriched by the donation of “Fondo Luigi De Falco”, made up of more than 2600 volumes. Finally, the Municipal government has recently acquired the precious library of the lawyer Nicola Esposito and so the book patrimony has been largely enriched.
